Ro-Cor Cover #3

If you are one of my elementary school students and you just found this by googling me, this is a good example of what you are not allowed to draw in class.

This is the third and final cover I'm doing for the ro-cor (roger corman) anthology. These are all based on titles that I did not come up with. Someone will get to choose from the three covers that I've posted and make a full minicomic based on their favorite. I don't know what covers I will get to choose from, but I will definitely post that cover (drawn by someone other than me) along with my preliminary sketches once the project moves on to the next phase.

I drew the main image on this cover with a crayon using my left hand. I should do that more often. I really like how it looks.

These are the first two pages to my comic that came out last November, but which I never blogged about. You can pick up a copy at Chicago Comics, Quimby's or on-line HERE.

Merman Tattoo

My friend Honey Bee asked me to design a merman tattoo for her. I spent a day working on huge elaborate designs that would take months to get done and hundreds of dollars and I hated all of them. Then I drew this in my sketchbook just to calm myself down and ground my designs in something simple. And I liked it. Sometimes the simplest design is the hardest to find.

another false start

I'm not sure where I thought this was going. I think it was going to be a chicken v road story along the lines of an old warner brothers cartoon.

Thick Masterson Concept Art

A good friend of mine asked me if I would be up for adapting Thick Masterson into a web series for a reputable website. The answer was, of course, yes. I finished this yesterday. I'll let you know if anything happens with it.  Wish us luck.

An few old pages

Here are a few pages from a story that never made it all the way to completion. Now that I look at these, I'm not sure why I ever abandoned it. If folks out there want to see more of my stories-that-didn't-quite-happen let me know. I've got a whole huge box of stuff I could post up.

Roger Corman Comics

I've been asked to be in an anthology called Ro-Cor comics. The premise is that each participant creates 10 image-evoking titles, the other folks in the anthology vote on the best three titles, those titles get passed to another artist to make covers of, the best of those covers gets passed to a third artist to make into a mini comic. Does that makes sense? No? Just wait until you see the collection. Here is my first finished cover.
